Mountain Bike & Yoga

What could be better? Start with a nice light yoga stretch, go for a mt bike ride and then finish with more yoga. There are plenty of benefits to adding yoga to your routine; increase your flexibility, improve your balance, strengthen your core and reduce recovery time, to name a few!

We will start the day with a light yoga workout on the stage in the Trapp Family Concert Meadow. We will follow that up with a 1 to 1 1/2 hr mountain bike ride and then return to the meadow for another session of yoga.

Yoga will be taught by Liz Soper, she has been practicing yoga for over 15 years.  She came to yoga originally to help balance her running/biking and support her through the raising of her two beautiful daughters.  Today yoga has become a way to deepen her understanding of herself and support others in this journey.  Liz completed her 200 RYT at Laughing River Yoga in May, 2015 and has trained with the Veterans Yoga Project, Bodhi Mind and Yoga, Shivashakti School of Yoga in Maine and is certified under Leslie Howard’s Pelvic Floor yoga.  She also just completed her 100 hour Teacher Enhancement Program at Laughing River Yoga, April, 2019.  Liz is interested in yoga therapy as it pertains to both stress and physical limitations and works to emphasize a safe and intentional space for students to practice.  She is also an avid Mountain Biker and dog lover!

This session will be geared towards mountain bikers that want to learn yoga as well as those already practicing. If you haven’t mountain biked before, we recommend you take a skills clinic before this session. This is not for never ever’s (Thanks!)

What to bring:

  • Mountain Bike & Helmet (rentals available)
  • Yoga Mat (let us know if you need one, we have some available)
  • Water bottle
  • Dressed to ride – as long as your shorts allow a good stretch
